Liverpool fans certain Alexander Isak is signing after what happened in Newcastle draw vs Aston Villa

Alexander Isak’s proposed exit from Newcastle United is beginning to turning ugly.

Isak has officially gone on strike after asking to leave the North East this summer, with Liverpool seeing a £110million bid turned down by Newcastle.

The Magpies are refusing to sell the striker until they are able to source replacements for him, with Yoane Wissa looking likely to move to Tyneside from Brentford in the coming days.

In the meantime, Isak is refusing to play for Newcastle again, while also training away from the squad as he attempts to force PIF’s hand into selling him to the Reds.

Eddie Howe’s side began their Premier League campaign with a 0-0 draw away at Aston Villa, and the fans weren’t afraid to make their feelings heard.

Newcastle fans voice their anger at Isak after draw at Villa

The Swede’s absence was felt by the Geordies during their draw at Villa Park, as they failed to find the net despite numerous chances.

Anthony Elanga and Anthony Gordon both missed huge chances in the first half as Newcastle dominated, and many feel that Howe’s side would have won had they had their talisman up top.

After the full-time whistle blew, the Geordies were heard singing about Isak in the away end, chanting “There’s only one greedy b******” as the Newcastle players walked down the tunnel.

With the former Real Sociedad man’s relationship with the Magpies already in ruins, this incident will have only further soured relations between player and fans.

Liverpool fans feel Isak’s relationship with Newcastle is broken beyond repair

The chants at Villa Park have given both Liverpool and Newcastle fans a significant realisation that this relationship is beyond repair, given Isak’s actions.

Many Reds fans believe that this was the final straw and that the striker’s departure is now a case of when rather than if.

Most Liverpool fans won’t care about what happens to the relationship the 25-year-old has with the Newcastle fans as long as he ends up at Anfield.

Many know that the arrival of Isak turns Liverpool into a superteam and is almost a guaranteed pathway to multiple trophies and accolades.

This could backfire on both the Geordies and the striker himself should he end up staying in the North East and ends his self-imposed isolation, but it’s clear all bridges are burned.

Isak’s actions towards Newcastle have been a disgrace, but the owners need to realise that it’s time to back down and sell up for the team’s sake.
