Harry Kane makes honest Liverpool admission after winning more Bayern Munich silverware
England captain Harry Kane moved to Bayern Munich two years ago, and has finally tasted silverware after failing to do so at Tottenham.
Kane became the second-highest goalscorer in Premier League history at Tottenham, but failed to win any major trophies, with Liverpool beating his Spurs side in the Champions League final in 2019.
The striker moved to Bayern to win trophies, but it took a year to do so as Xabi Alonso and Florian Wirtz won the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen in his first season in Germany.
Bayern have now won another trophy after beating Stuttgart in the German Supercup final, and Kane has now given his verdict on who could win the Champions League this season.

Kane claims Liverpool will contend for Champions League
Bayern are expected to be well in the mix to win the Champions League, as are the Reds, after Liverpool were beaten by Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16 last season.
Speaking to MARCA after Bayern’s win over Stuttgart, in which Kane and former Liverpool winger Luis Diaz scored, the England striker named Liverpool as one of the main contenders for the trophy.
Stat | Kane |
Appearances | 57 |
Goals | 40 |
Assists | 11 |
“I think this Champions League is going to be similar to every year. We will be one of the favourites, PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man City, Liverpool… All the big teams will have their eyes on the trophy,” he stated.
“There’s still a long way from now until that final. We’re looking forward to the draw at the end of the month to see who we’ll play in the league phase.

Kane’s record against Liverpool
There is every chance that Liverpool will face Diaz and Kane with Bayern at some point in the Champions League this season, with both teams expected to go far.
This will see Kane line up against Liverpool for the first time since he left, but it is truly a mixed bag of results for him.
- Kane has scored nine goals and provided two assists in 17 games against Liverpool.
- However, Kane won just one of these encounters, with six draws and 10 losses against the Reds with Tottenham.
Kane started in the Champions League final against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in 2019, but failed to make an impact, and many believe that Spurs would have fared better with semi-final hero Lucas Moura upfront instead of him in Madrid.
