Casemiro says something very surprising about Mohamed Salah ahead of new season

Liverpool look well prepared to defend their Premier League title after an impressive spending spree in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool have signed Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike, among others.

Arne Slot’s side also remain in pursuit of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, who many believe would give Arne Slot’s side the firepower to steamroll all their rivals.

With all this transfer speculation, it’s perhaps easy to forget that Liverpool still have Mohamed Salah, one of Europe’s deadliest attackers last season.

Salah signed a new contract at Anfield earlier this year and will be looking to fire Liverpool to more trophies this season.

Casemiro delivers surprising compliment to Liverpool rival Salah

Salah is set to start against AFC Bournemouth on Friday, and he’ll be looking to add to his record of Premier League opening day goals. He currently has nine, more than any other player in the competition’s history.

As he prepares for the match, he may be surprised to hear what Casemiro has had to say about him.

The Brazilian midfielder, who still plays for Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United, has tipped Salah to win the Ballon d’Or later this year.

According to Footmercato, he said: “For me, the Ballon d’Or is Mohamed Salah. He’s the best player.

“He scores so many goals, makes so many assists. The most complete player last season was Salah.”

Salah will be out to prove he’s worth every penny to Liverpool

Salah signed a new deal to remain Liverpool’s highest-paid player this summer.

Some have suggested it was a risk to offer this deal to a 33-year-old winger. Those who know Salah well are confident he’ll be worth every penny.

Unlike the top stars at some rival clubs, Salah isn’t the type to coast once he signs a huge new deal. He’ll be hungry to prove that he’s worth the money.

He’ll have his eye on more trophies with Liverpool and cementing his legacy as an Anfield great. Yes, he may have one eye on the Ballon D’or ceremony in September too.

Salah may be in his thirties, but he’s as fit as he has ever been. The Egyptian king will be aiming to perform at the highest level even after his contract runs out in 2027. And who would bet against him doing it after what he achieved last season?
