FSG aims emerge from Liverpool after big transfer spend and Community Shield loss
Liverpool endured rare disappointment under Arne Slot on Sunday after losing the Community Shield to Crystal Palace.
The Reds got off to a flying start at Wembley when Hugo Ekitike bagged his first goal, with Jeremie Frimpong also scoring after Palace equalised from the penalty spot.
A late goal from Ismaila Sarr levelled things up before the Eagles won on penalties.
Though Slot and FSG won’t be too worried about the defeat, they will be mindful of needing to win big this season after spending so much.

Liverpool will want guaranteed success this season
Liverpool have spent more than £250million this summer and reportedly are still able to spend more.
The Reds are notably interested in a move for Alexander Isak, who is keen to leave Newcastle, but a move has stalled due to the Magpies’ demands.
After spending big, there is added expectation for Slot to do well this summer, but football finance expert Dan Plumley – speaking exclusively to Liverpool News – says FSG won’t be losing sleep over their Community Shield defeat.
“You always want success as an ownership group, and FSG are no different. I think the expectations have probably gone up a little bit, given them winning the league last year in Slot’s first season,” he said.
“I think that’s probably just kicked things up a notch, but it’s also some of them players are brand new to the Premier League as well, so it will take them a little bit of time to bed in there.
“I’m sure FSG won’t be too concerned about losing the Community Shield, but they will be fully ready for another tilt at the Premier League title, and that will be the aim this year. Ultimately, you know you’ve won it once you’ve improved the squad, go and win it again.
“The expectations are pretty clear at a club like Liverpool, as I say, I don’t think they’ll lose too much sleep over losing the Community Shield, but they’ll certainly be looking at the Premier League this season and of course doing better in the Champions League than they did last season.”

Liverpool won’t have too many worries after Crystal Palace defeat
Despite defeat, Slot’s side still showed that they can dominate at the very top, with their attack everywhere in the opening 15 minutes against Palace.
Having lost Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez this summer, the Reds will still be looking to invest further to get their squad up to speed.
The new signings still need time to bed in and get used to English football, and once they’re up to speed, it’s looking like no side will be able to catch the Reds this season.
Liverpool still tick every box financially, and FSG won’t pull the plug after losing in a tight game.
