Liverpool Fantasy Premier League guide: Most expensive and selected players
Liverpool players are set to be in high demand in the Fantasy Premier League this season for many reasons.
The Reds were in a league of their own last term, wrapping up the title with three games to spare.
This summer, the Merseyside club have strengthened their already impressive squad, giving them increased appeal.
Mohamed Salah was the highest scoring player during the 2024/25 campaign, notching 344 points.
Ahead of the new Premier League season, which of Arne Slot’s players should you pick?

Salah the most expensive and selected Premier League player
Salah is Liverpool’s highest-earning player and also the most selected, with an ownership of 58.7 per cent.
As expected, the Egyptian is also the most expensive player and can be purchased for £14.5million.
After his exploits last season, the forward is essentially a banker for high returns, having notched 47 league goal contributions.
Most expensive Liverpool aces | Price |
Mohammed Salah | £14.5m |
Florian Wirtz | £8.5m |
Hugo Ekitike | £8.5m |
Cody Gakpo | £7.5m |
Indeed, the 33-year-old recorded his best-ever statistics last season and is now surrounded by even more quality.
However, given his price, players cannot afford many other premium picks and will have to build a team around Salah.
The former Roma man eclipses Erling Haaland (£14m), Cole Palmer (£10.5m), and Alexander Isak (£10.5m) as the most expensive option.

Which Liverpool players should I pick?
With Liverpool the Premier League champions, it is understandable that their players are in demand this term.
However, the Merseyside club’s players come at a premium and are among the most owned in the game.
Defensive duo Milos Kerkez (£6m) and Jeremie Frimpong (£6m) are appealing options after sealing their respective moves.
Frimpong perhaps presents the better pick, given he returned three more goal contributions in the league, with 17 in all competitions.
- Frimpong and Kerkez pose a threat going forward
- Both are premium picks at £6m
- The duo should have an increased attacking presence in Slot’s side
However, new signing Ekitike (£8.5m) could be the best value pick in Slot’s squad, having totalled 34 goal contributions across domestic and European matches last term.
Furthermore, at an ownership of just 6.7 per cent, the centre forward is essentially a differential already.
Defenders boosted by new FPL point-scoring metric
Due to the introduction of ‘defensive contributions’ as a point-scoring metric, Liverpool fans might be more inclined to pick defenders in FPL.
Alisson, who will be Slot’s number one, will score points for saves and accumulate bonus points through that.
Previously, defenders had to contribute in attack or keep clean sheets to score points, but this season, FPL have added a new way to score so that defenders can add more importance to your team.
Name | Position | Price |
Alisson | Goalkeeper | £5.5m |
Virgil van Dijk | Defender | £6m |
Jeremie Frimpong | Defender | £6m |
Milos Kerkez | Defender | £6m |
And attackers?
Florian Witz (£8.5m) became Liverpool’s most expensive player of all time and is a popular pick ahead of the new campaign.
The German tallied 23 goal contributions in the Bundesliga last season, the same number as 2023/24, highlighting his consistency in attack.
However, Gakpo (£7.5m) is one to keep an eye on, given his reasonable price, low ownership, and numbers last season.
The Dutchman recorded 15 goal involvements in the league during the 2024/25 campaign, totalling 127 points, and is owned by 5.7 per cent of players.
Elsewhere, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis MacAllister offer decent value for money at £6.5m, with the former notching 143 points compared to the latter’s 122.
Despite their encouraging returns, neither is a guaranteed starter, meaning you should err on the side of caution before selecting them.

Ibrahima Konate is Liverpool’s hidden gem for FPL
The possible arrival of Marc Guehi (£4.5m) could have spelled the end for Konate (£5.5m) at Liverpool, but the Crystal Palace defender seems to be staying put.
That means that the Frenchman looks like excellent value as he is set to partner van Dijk (£6m) in the Premier League.
Last season, the 26-year-old made 31 league appearances, winning 26 tackles and 137 duels, with 70.8 per cent of those aerial.
- Konate is the cheapest expected starter for Slot
- Has a better chance for points, given the new defensive format
- Cheaper alternative to expensive Liverpool defenders
Moreover, Konate carries an attacking threat from set pieces, having scored two goals and contributed one assist.
With the increased potential for defenders to score points in FPL, the centre back is low-owned at 2.9 per cent and is going under the radar.

Should I get Liverpool players in my team right away?
Liverpool kick off their season at home against Bournemouth, which represents a favourable fixture for the North West club.
The Reds’ following two games, Newcastle United (A) and Arsenal (H), are tricky fixtures, but the strength of the opposition shouldn’t phase FPL bosses.
Slot’s team represent a rare commodity in that you can back them week in, week out, regardless of the fixture.
Furthermore, by not selecting Liverpool’s key assets, you risk their price rising and them becoming unaffordable very quickly.
