Mohamed Salah has already endorsed Liverpool target Alexander Isak as transfer saga heats up

Alexander Isak has become the talking point of the summer.

Isak has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, with the Swede rejecting multiple contract offers from Newcastle United in an attempt to force through a move to Anfield.

Newcastle have even banished Isak from training, with the Magpies currently attempting to source a replacement as they look to save what has been an abysmal summer window.

The Reds are ready to pounce on the 25-year-old should an opportunity arise to sign the forward, having seen a £110million bid rejected for Isak last week, and Mohamed Salah has already endorsed the Swede.

Salah wants Isak to be priced higher than him on Fantasy Premier League

Liverpool’s star player has been named as the most expensive asset in Fantasy Premier League this season, being priced at £14.5m.

Salah pips Erling Haaland to top spot by 0.5m, before Isak places joint-3rd with Cole Palmer at £10.5m.

The official FPL account asked the Egyptian as to why players should pick him in their teams, to which the Egyptian gave a tongue-in-cheek response.

Salah jokingly said: “First of all, I want you to put my price down so everyone can have me in their team.”

He later said: “No, put the strikers the highest. Haaland should be the highest. Isak should be the highest. Not a winger has to be the highest.”

Isak and Salah duo could break records on both FPL and on the pitch

Salah’s show of respect for Isak by saying he should be priced higher emphasises how highly the Swede is rated across the league.

Should the two team up at Anfield, however, that would be a scary proposition for any side.

The Egyptian smashed his own record for most FPL points in a season with 344 points last time out, after his record-equalling 47 goal contributions during the Reds’ title win.

Should Isak be brought into the mix next season, along with the creativity of Florian Wirtz and the explosiveness of Hugo Ekitike, there is potential for the quartet to run riot across the Premier League next season, while breaking all sorts of FPL records.
