Luis Enrique has already told Liverpool why they should sign ‘exceptional’ Bradley Barcola
Liverpool have been linked with a sensational swoop for PSG winger Bradley Barcola this summer.
The Frenchman is reportedly of interest to decision-makers at Anfield, who are looking to continue a summer spree that has already seen them spend well over £200million.
Liverpool are also in negotiations for striker Alexander Isak, after failing with an opening bid.
Newcastle United are reportedly hoping to sign a replacement before sanctioning the sale of the Swede, who has made his desire to join Liverpool this summer clear.

Luis Enrique’s huge praise for Bradley Barcola
Barcola enjoyed a superb season for PSG last season as they completed the treble under head coach Luis Enrique.
The forward registered a sensational 21 goals and 21 assists in all competitions, despite spending much of the season jostling for position with the equally talented pair of Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
PSG signed Barcola in 2023 in a deal worth around £43m from Ligue 1 rivals Lyon, and would likely seek at least double that to let the winger go this summer.
But Liverpool have the financial backing, having already indicated their intention to bid more than £120m for Isak, and having sold Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich for around £65.5m last month.
Liverpool signings 2025/26 | Fee (including add-ons) |
Florian Wirtz | £116m |
Hugo Ekitike | £79m |
Milos Kerkez | £40m |
Jeremie Frimpong | £30m |
Freddie Woodman | Free transfer |
It is not yet clear whether Liverpool will sanction deals for both Isak and Barcola, but further cash injections are expected imminently via the sales of Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott.
PSG head coach Enrique is a big fan of Barcola, having overseen the winger’s signing in the months after his appointment.
Speaking on the Frenchman following his first goal in December 2023, the Spaniard said: “It is a clear bet from the club when we go out and find such a young player, a youth international, with a big personality and the quality to burst out.
“He has quite a few minutes for being in a team like ours. He incarnates the present and the future. On Saturday evening, he was superb, the most decisive player in one-on-one situations and he scored an exceptional goal too.”
Barcola would be sensational for Liverpool
There is a case to be made that Barcola should be the signing that Liverpool prioritise in the final weeks of the window, rather than Isak.
The winger is among Europe’s most impressive wide forwards and, at just 22, will only improve in the coming years.
The arrival of Hugo Ekitike has lessened the need for another big-name striker – in fact, much of the debate has centred around how Liverpool would fit both Isak and the Frenchman in the same team.
There would be no need for such debate should Barcola arrive.
