We signed Alexander Isak for Liverpool on Football Manager – Here’s what happened
Liverpool have not given up in their pursuit of Newcastle forward Alexander Isak.
The Reds’ £110million bid for Isak was rejected by the Magpies, but that has reportedly not discouraged Arne Slot and Co.
There is still a huge amount of uncertainty around the Sweden star’s future, and the Reds seem to be biding their time before sending another bid.
Here, Liverpool News used popular video game Football Manager to simulate Isak’s Anfield career.

Season one – A shaky start with some success
The Reds are expected to walk the Premier League if they sign Isak, but that wasn’t the case in the first season of the simulation.
Slot’s side missed out on the title to Manchester City by a 13-point margin, finishing third behind Aston Villa too.
However, they would taste triple cup success to make up for it, with Isak notching 21 goals and three assists in all competitions.
They vanquished Pep Guardiola’s side to win the Carabao Cup, before besting Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
The best was yet to come, though, as Isak fired in the opener in a 2-1 win in the Champions League final against Marseille.

Season two – Liverpool back on their perch with Isak
Sporting director Richard Hughes made significant additions, signing Benfica defender Antonio Silva and Napoli midfielder Billy Gilmour.
Brazilian forward Victor Roque was also brought in, but Isak would remain the main man up top.
While the Reds would not win the treble, the Swede would fire them to a double, a record 21st league title and their second successive Champions League triumph.
Paris Saint-Germain were beaten in the Madrid final, with Isak once again opening the scoring.
They would miss out on the FA Cup, losing on penalties to West Ham after a 1-1 draw.
Isak scored 42 goals in a fantastic second season on Merseyside.

Season three – No Salah, No VVD = No problem for Liverpool
Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk left Anfield when their contracts expired, but that was not an issue.
Isak stepped up in his third season on Merseyside, notching 37 goals and two assists in all competitions.
He was a crucial part in the Reds’ success as they lifted the title for the third time in four seasons, with a record points total of 101.
He notched six goals in the Champions League as Slot’s side won it again, with young star Rio Ngumoha scoring the equaliser in the final against PSG.
The clash went to penalties, and Isak did his job from the spot to help his side win a third successive European crown.

Season Four – The best is yet to come
While his previous campaigns could not be topped in terms of the trophy haul, Isak had his best individual season yet.
He would score 45 goals and notch three assists in all competitions.
The L4 outfit’s European dominance was ended by Manchester City in the quarter-finals as an Isak strike in the home leg could not overcome a 2-0 deficit.
They would also be eliminated from the FA Cup at the same stage by Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa defeated the Reds in the League Cup final.
However, Isak and co retained the league title, making it four in five seasons.
Season five – Just rewards for Isak
Isak missed out on the Ballon d’Or to Kylian Mbappe and the UEFA Player of the Year award to teammate Florian Wirtz.
However, he picked up the FIFA Men’s Player of the Year award for his contributions in the previous campaign.
Liverpool sat sixth, nine points behind leaders Arsenal at the turn of the year.
However, the Swede’s 19 league goals would help his side around that deficit and retain their domestic crown.
He also scored in the League Cup final as the Reds beat Bournemouth.
In terms of the other cup competitions, they reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The Merseysiders topped off the campaign by winning the Club World Cup, with Isak notching another 10 goals, including a hat-trick in the final against Real Madrid.
