Why Federico Chiesa could hold key to Liverpool signing Isak
Liverpool remain in pursuit of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
The Reds tabled a huge bid for Isak, worth £110million plus add-ons, but it was rejected by the Magpies.
Now, it’s being suggested that Federico Chiesa could have a huge role to play in making this transfer happen.

Chiesa swap deal mooted as Liverpool explore new strategies to sign Isak
Newcastle have insisted that Isak isn’t for sale at any price.
However, Liverpool remain confident in being able to negotiate a deal before the transfer window closes on 1 September.
They may need to explore other avenues that will allow Newcastle to accept an offer though.
Italian football website Calcio Mercato (5 August) has suggested Chiesa could be one of several players offered to Newcastle in a swap deal.
Harvey Elliott, Kostas Tsimikas, Tyler Morton are other players that could supposedly be offered.
It has been suggested that Liverpool may be willing to offer one or two of these players plus a significant lump sum to seal a deal for Isak.

Chiesa could still have a future at Liverpool
Chiesa was recruited by Liverpool last summer for just £10million, a modest sum considering his experience. He was Arne Slot’s only signing of the summer.
His Liverpool career hasn’t really taken off yet, but the fans remain confident in his ability to make an impact on the team. Many would like to see him given more of an opportunity.

With that said, it’s likely that most supporters would accept the loss of Chiesa if he was a makeweight in the Isak deal.
At this point, many Liverpool fans are obsessed with signing Isak, such is the level of speculation surrounding this transfer.
Even if they were to lose Chiesa, Elliott and Tsimikas and Morton, that might not upset too many people.
Isak is seen as the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle that could help Liverpool become serious contenders for the Premier League and Champions League double next season.
In the eyes of many, it’s a deal that should be completed at all costs.
