Sterling and Ibe – Liverpool youth signings who made Anfield impact as Wright joins
Liverpool have now completed the signing of Salford City sensation Will Wright, beating Arsenal to his signature.
The 17-year-old was in high demand after impressing at Salford, but has now joined Liverpool as an option for the future.
Arne Slot’s side have invested in big-money signings such as Florian Wirtz this summer, but also have an eye on the future by signing top young talents like Wright.
The Reds have had success in the past by signing teenage talents, and Liverpool News have now listed four youth signings who eventually made the first team.

Raheem Sterling
Raheem Sterling was once the prodigal son at Anfield, having joined from QPR as a 15-year-old in 2010, as one of English football’s best young talents.
Sterling went on to become a key player under Brendan Rodgers, but left for Manchester City in 2015.
Stat | Liverpool | Man City |
Appearances | 129 | 339 |
Goals | 23 | 131 |
Assists | 18 | 86 |
He has since played for Chelsea and Arsenal as one of the Premier League’s most prolific wingers of the last decade, but his best form came at Man City rather than at Liverpool.
Jordan Ibe
When Sterling departed, Liverpool thought they had an internal solution in Jordan Ibe, after he joined as a 16-year-old from Wycombe Wanderers.
Ibe started well, but could not live up to expectations, scoring four goals in 58 appearances for Liverpool, before they made a significant profit by selling him to Bournemouth.
- Ibe is now playing for Hungerford Town FC in the Southern Premier Division, in the seventh division of English football, at the age of 29.
Harvey Elliott
Although he could leave this summer, Harvey Elliott has made a positive impact at Liverpool, having joined as a 16-year-old from Fulham.
Fulham made Elliott the youngest-ever player to appear in the Premier League before his exit, and he has played his part in some big moments for Liverpool.
The 22-year-old has made 147 first-team appearances for the Reds in his six years at Anfield, and could now be sold for a huge profit.

Conor Bradley
Conor Bradley has now stepped up to replace the hole left by Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back, and Liverpool again pulled off a masterclass with his signing.
The defender joined from Dungannon United as a 16-year-old and spent a few productive years in the academy before breaking through into the first team.
Should he continue to shine as a defensively adept right-back, Bradley will save Liverpool a lot of money in the coming years as a key member of the squad.
