Isak to force move? Three possible outcomes amid latest Newcastle developments
Liverpool’s pursuit of Alexander Isak has become one of the most high-profile transfer stories in recent years.
Newcastle’s talisman has established himself as one of the finest strikers in world football, and if Liverpool can secure Isak’s signature, then they arguably have one hand on next season’s Premier League trophy already.
Arne Slot has already had a phenomenal transfer window so far, but signing Isak would arguably surpass the arrival of Florian Wirtz as the Reds’ most impressive piece of business so far.
With that in mind, Liverpool News bring you the three possible outcomes as Liverpool look to end this saga once and for all.

Stop haggling over £40million
The first possible outcome is that Liverpool cave to Newcastle’s demands and stump up the extra £40million.
Isak was the subject of a £110million bid from the Merseyside outfit; however, the Magpies are said to be holding out for a fee of £150million for their star man.
Understandably, Newcastle will want to part ways with Isak before a replacement has been brought in, so they will not part ways with the Swedish international for anything lower than the price they have set.
With three years left on Isak’s contract, Newcastle are in a strong bargaining position, and it may just be worth it for Liverpool to part ways with the extra cash to get this deal over the line.
Walk away from Isak deal
With the blockbuster signing of Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool have already secured the services of a quality striker this window.
Whilst Ekitike is not proven in the Premier League, he has showcased his quality in the Bundesliga and has racked up an impressive goal catalogue.
If Liverpool feel a move for Isak is too expensive, they may opt for a cheaper alternative that will be more likely to accept a backup role behind Ekitike.
Depth in up top for Slot’s side is undoubtedly needed, with Darwin Nunez seemingly on his way out of Anfield.

Get in Isak’s ear
One way the Reds could whittle Isak’s price down is by partaking in some underhanded tactics.
With the latest reports suggesting that Isak is set to link up with the rest of the Newcastle squad and their training set up after spending time in Spain at his old club Real Sociedad to maintain his fitness, Liverpool could get in the player’s ear.
If Liverpool can force Isak to refuse to train and go out on strike, Newcastle’s bargaining power will be somewhat weakened.
With the Premier League campaign under a fortnight away, Newcastle cannot afford to have a player who is refusing to play or train on their books if he is not sold.
The Swedish international’s price could be cut in a last-ditch attempt to sanction a deal between the two clubs, but this would likely take place late in the window.
