What is next step for Liverpool after latest update on Newcastle star Isak?
Liverpool have had a bid rejected to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle but remain confident of signing the Swedish striker
The Reds reportedly bid £110million for Isak on Friday, but the Magpies wasted no time in turning that bid down.
However, the conditions in which Newcastle are likely to sell have now emerged.

Liverpool will strike again in their fight to sign Alexander Isak
It’s now perfectly clear that Arne Slot sees Isak as the final missing piece of his puzzle.
Newcastle maintain that the striker is not for sale at any price, although manager Eddie Howe has admitted that the situation is “far from ideal” and that he doesn’t know what’s going to happen next.
Isak pulled out of Newcastle’s tour of the Far East with a minor injury, and is currently in Spain training with his old club Real Sociedad.
Howe has admitted that he only knew that due to media reports, so it appears this trip wasn’t sanctioned by the club.

It’s clear then that there is tension between Isak and Newcastle. Liverpool will be aware of that.
Mail Online now reports that the Reds will come back with an improved bid for Isak once Newcastle sign a replacement striker.
They are currently in talks with RB Leipzig attacker Benjamin Sesko and Brentford’s Yoane Wissa. A bid of around £130million plus suitable add-ons is expected.
Liverpool will do what it takes to sign Isak
Liverpool fans shouldn’t worry too much about Newcastle rejecting the initial offer for Isak, nor that they’ve said he’s “not for sale”.
We’ve seen these types of negotiations play out in many previous transfer windows.
The selling club rejects the first big offer to assert strength, only to eventually sell for a slightly higher fee. It’s a classic ploy to try and get a better deal for their wantaway player.

In most cases, when the buying club has money to spend and is serious about their target, the deal gets done. Look at Liverpool’s pursuit of Virgil Van Dijk as a classic example.
The fact that Isak spent time training alone will also play into Liverpool’s hands. It’s very rare that a player stays and performs at his best after something like this has happened.
Isak will be at Anfield sooner or later. At this point, it’s simply a case of when Isak will sign and how much Liverpool will pay, rather than whether he’ll make the move.
