Szoboszlai sends touching message after what’s happened away from Liverpool
Dominik Szoboszlai has grown into a key piece at Liverpool.
Szoboszlai, 24, endured a difficult first season at Anfield, struggling to keep up his form from the first ten league games of the season as Liverpool fell away to finish third.
Largely criticised for his lack of output, the Hungarian improved significantly from his first season, providing 13 goal contributions in 36 Premier League games as Liverpool romped to the league title.
Szoboszlai’s year has been brilliant so far, and he’s just shared news that it’s only getting better for the midfielder.

Szoboszlai announces birth of his child
The Hungarian has announced the birth of his first child in a heartfelt post on Instagram.
Szoboszlai confirmed earlier this year that he and his partner, Borka Buzsik, were expecting the birth of their first child, with the 24-year-old celebrating his goal away at Brighton in May by putting the ball under his shirt.
The midfielder has marked the arrival of his daughter by posting a picture of his newborn holding his hands.
In the post, Szoboszlai said: “Your birth means the world to me. Thank you, my love for bringing her into our life!”
Szoboszlai is going to be crucial to Liverpool’s title defence
The Hungary captain has seen his midfield position come under threat following the blockbuster signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
However, Szoboszlai’s role is still going to be crucial to any success Arne Slot‘s side are wishing to achieve this season, with the Reds looking to go deep into every competition.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 36 | 6 | 7 |
Champions League | 9 | 1 | 1 |
Carabao Cup | 3 | 1 | 0 |
FA Cup | 1 | 0 | 1 |
The downfall of Liverpool in the cups last season was a lack of depth in midfield, something which Szoboszlai is likely to be the solution to.
The 24-year-old will be a confident man after a brilliant start to 2025 both on and off the pitch, and that can only serve to help the Premier League Champions.
