Liverpool have perfect shirt number for Alexander Isak, all fans say the same thing

Liverpool has revealed their first team squad numbers for the upcoming season.

This annual announcement isn’t usually too exciting for the fans, although it will allow them to buy the new Liverpool kits with their favourite player’s name on the back.

However, this season, most fans’ reactions on social media aren’t about a number assigned to an existing player at all.

Isak dominates social media conversation as Liverpool squad numbers announced

Liverpool has been on a recruitment drive for the ages this summer, and each of their new signings has had their squad confirmed.

Florian Wirtz will wear number seven, while Milos Kerkez has been given the number six. The new striker will Hugo Ekitike wear number 22.

Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pesci have been assigned 30 and 41 respectively.

The number 20 has been permanently reserved for Diogo Jota who tragically passed away in a car accident this summer.

However, it’s Alexander Isak who is dominating the social media conversation after this announcement.

Isak is being endlessly linked with a move to Anfield this summer, and countless fans have predicted that Isak will wear the number nine shirt for Liverpool this season.

Isak would be the ultimate replacement for Darwin Nunez

These predictions could be considered somewhat disrespectful, considering Darwin Nunez is still a Liverpool player.

He wore the number nine last season, and he has been officially assigned it for this campaign.

The rumours linking Nunez with a move away from Anfield have persisted all summer, although Liverpool are yet to receive an official bid for him.

It’s believed that Liverpool would have to sell Nunez to balance the books if they sign Isak from Newcastle, which would leave the number 9 free for the Swedish striker.

Even Nunez’s biggest fan would admit that Isak would be the ultimate replacement for the Uruguayan striker.

The Reds would arguably have the strongest attack in the Premier League, and maybe in the world, if Isak were to sign.

It’s believed that Liverpool will launch a club record bid to sign Isak in the coming days.
