How Newcastle plan to keep Alexander Isak following Liverpool’s opening offer
Liverpool continue to be embroiled in a turbulent race to sign Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.
Isak is reportedly interested in a move to Merseyside, though the Magpies are keen to keep hold of the prolific Swedish striker.
The Reds have been a real pain for Newcastle so far this transfer window, who will have thought their nightmares were over once Arne Slot landed Hugo Ekitike.
However, Liverpool continue to hound the Geordies over the availability of Isak, but Eddie Howe’s side won’t give up easily.

Newcastle will charge a premium for Isak
Howe’s side will be keen not to lose another transfer battle this summer, after losing out on plenty of forwards to Premier League rivals.
Isak is currently training by himself and is keen on a move to Anfield, but Liverpool are yet to meet Newcastle’s valuation of the striker.
The Tyneside club are demanding above £120million for Isak.
Newcastle CEO Darren Eales emphasised earlier this summer that it would be “crazy” to sell the Swedish international this summer, with the club under no financial strain.
Howe also reinforced his sentiment by declaring the striker as “not for sale”, despite Isak not travelling for their preseason tour.

- Isak has become agitated with Newcastle after they delayed offering him a mega contract
- The 25-year-old remains under contract at St James’ Park until 2028
- Isak reportedly only wants Liverpool should he depart this summer
After qualifying for the Champions League by the skin of their teeth last season, Newcastle are no longer under pressure from Profit and Sustainability rules to sell any of their best assets this summer.

Liverpool can push Newcastle to their limits
Newcastle’s firm stance on keeping Isak has cast some doubt over whether the Reds will be able to continue to push for the striker.
However, following the sale of Luis Diaz, the Reds still have potentially more than £200million to spend this summer without violating PSR.
The Geordies have already been eyeing a striker this summer, and given that they rarely played two strikers last season, Howe’s side could be preparing for life without Isak.
Therefore, Slot’s side can continue to up their bid and land the Swedish striker.
