Liverpool to launch record bid for Isak in hours after verbal transfer agreement
Liverpool are expected to shock the football world once again by making a record offer to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
It has been one surprise after another for the Reds during what has been an unforgettable window.
Hugo Ekitike was the latest addition and made his debut for Liverpool in the 3-1 win against Yokohama Marinos on Wednesday (30 July).
However, it seems the Merseyside club are far from done and could drop their biggest sum yet in the coming days.

Liverpool and Newcastle in positive talks over Isak deal
As reported by Florian Pettenberg via X on Thursday (31 July), talks between Liverpool and Newcastle over Isak are progressing well.
It is understood that the player’s camp are very positive about the situation and Isak is hopeful that a club-to-club agreement can be reached. However, a record bid will be needed to secure the transfer.
This bid would certainly surpass the £116 million, including add-ons, spent to land Florian Wirtz at Anfield earlier this summer.
With talks progressing well, it’s likely that Liverpool could launch their bid for Isak within hours. Isak has reportedly verbally agreed terms with Liverpool, and his debut in red at Anfield could be in sight.
Isak would complete Liverpool’s frontline
Signing Isak would take Liverpool’s attack to unexpected heights over the next couple of seasons.
The Newcastle striker ended the previous campaign as one of the best strikers in the Premier League by scoring 27 and assisting 6 for the Magpies in all competitions.

At 25, the Swedish international is entering his prime, which makes this the perfect time for Liverpool to add him to their front line. The forward is known for his goal-scoring, but more importantly, his ability to bring others into the game.
Isak is an excellent dribbler with a unique vision for a striker and can score from almost anywhere on the pitch. Under Jurgen Klopp and now with Arne Slot, the collective has come second to none at Anfield, and the star striker is someone who embodies this in its entirety.
