‘Eddie Howe knows’ Isak is set for Newcastle exit as Liverpool ready transfer
Liverpool are pushing to seal the blockbuster signing of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak.
Isak notched 23 goals and six assists in the Premier League last season and is widely considered as the best number nine in world football.
The Reds have already signed Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, but are still chasing the Newcastle forward as they seek to bolster their attacking options.
The Anfield outfit are willing to test the Magpies’ resolve with a record bid for the 25-year-old, and their not for sale stance seems to have changed recently.

Newcastle forced to sell Isak as Liverpool continue chase
Liverpool target Isak has been left out of Eddie Howe’s squad for their pre-season tour of Asia and has requested to leave the club.
Former Premier League manager Neil Warnock believes there is no choice but for the Magpies to sell the Swedish forward.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (29 July, 7:07 am), he said: “I’ve had it before and there is only one outcome for me.
“That is him leaving, I just don’t see anything else, I think Ed (Howe) knows that as well.”
Liverpool should go all out for Isak
While there is a need for recruits in other areas, such as centre-back and left-wing, Isak would be a game-changing addition for the Reds.
He is by far the best number nine in the English game, and the opportunity to sign a player of that quality does not come about too often.
Ekitike has bags of potential, but he is not the full package yet, and the L4 outfit may need two new forwards anyway, if Darwin Nunez is sold after failing to convince Arne Slot of his worth.
Liverpool needs to keep pushing for the Isak deal, putting the pressure on the North East outfit as Howe and Co. may decide to cash in, rather than keeping a player who does not want to be there.
It may ultimately take a package of around £150million to prize him away from the Geordies, but that would be worth every penny if the Swede fires them to domestic and Champions League success.
Fenway Sports Group have already shown that they are willing to back Slot, but a deal for the former Borussia Dortmund striker would be a real statement of intent from the champions.
