Luis Diaz exit: How much money Liverpool could save after medical update
Luis Diaz’s spell at Liverpool looks to be coming to an end.
The Colombian winger was previously linked with a move to Barcelona earlier on in the window, but now appears to be on the verge of joining Bayern Munich.
Diaz was left out of the squad in Hong Kong to take on AC Milan by Arne Slot (26 July), along with Darwin Nunez, as speculation began to grow regarding exits for the pair.
Now, Diaz’s exit is on the verge of being completed after a fee was agreed for the winger.

Diaz exit to save Liverpool millions
Rodrygo has been a name thrown around as a potential replacement for Diaz in L4, with the Brazilian being on the fringe of the Real Madrid first team.
According to Fabrizio Romano on X (28 July), Bayern Munich are closing in on a deal for Diaz after a fee of £65.6million was agreed, with the tricky winger set to travel on Monday for his medical.
Not only will Liverpool receive a handsome fee for the 28-year-old, his £55,000 per week wages (Capology), excluding bonuses, which equate to £2,860,000 annually, will also be off the books.
With two years left on his deal, Liverpool will be saving at least £5,720,000 in total from Diaz’s move to Munich.
Selling players at the right time is a lesson Liverpool had to learn the hard way with the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid, but the Reds look to have cashed in at a smart time for Diaz.

Selling Diaz makes perfect sense
With Diaz’s desire to leave, shipping out the Colombian whilst he is still perceived to be playing at a high level to help fund moves for younger attacking reinforcements like Rodrygo and Alexander Isak is wise.
Despite his numbers looking good on paper last season, Diaz has frustrated the Anfield faithful at times, so making a profit of just over £27million for the forward would be an incredible bit of business by FSG.
Liverpool made the painful but correct decision to sell Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich, with his career tapering off ever since leaving the Reds, and Diaz could be the next to follow suit.
