Alexander Isak transfer: How Liverpool can afford wages with triple exit
Liverpool have already splashed the cash so far this summer on numerous signings.
Multiple big-money arrivals like Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike have already bolstered Arne Slot’s squad as they prepare to attempt to retain the Premier League title.
Despite the astronomical sum of the Reds’ spending this window already surpassing £250million, they do not show any signs of slowing down.
A blockbuster move for Alexander Isak from Newcastle would be a rather large cherry on top of the cake to round off the incomings in L4, and there is a clear pathway for how Slot’s side could meet the Swedish international’s salary demands

Sales of players can free up wages for Isak
With the departure of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich now imminent, the Colombian represents the first financial lever that the Reds have pulled to facilitate a move for Isak.
Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa could also be set to leave Anfield, with the pair freeing up a significant amount of funds to give Liverpool the means to afford Isak.
According to Capology, Diaz, Nunez, and Chiesa earn £55,000, £140,000 and £180,000 per week respectively.
Combined, this works out at £375,000 a week.
Annually, the Reds could save as much as £19.5million in wages if they were to axe those three players from Slot’s squad.
With reports suggesting that Isak is asking for £300,000-a-week to stay at Newcastle, Liverpool would have plenty of cash to throw at the striker who netted 23 Premier League goals last season if they made these sales.

Liverpool must find a way to sell Nunez and Chiesa
With Diaz on the brink of being confirmed as a Bayern Munich player, Liverpool must turn their attention to selling Chiesa and Nunez.
Surprisingly, the pair earn considerably more than Diaz despite being worse players, meaning it is even more important that they follow the Colombian out the door.
Player | Appearences | Goals | Assists |
Darwin Nunez | 30 (8) | 5 | 2 |
Federico Chiesa | 6 (1) | 0 | 0 |
With neither Nunez nor Chiesa being a regular starter under Slot, selling them to bring in one of the best strikers in world football seems like a no-brainer.
