Luis Diaz expected to clear medical amid huge Liverpool exit twist
This story includes exclusive opinion from injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar.
Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz could have played his last-ever senior game at Anfield with an exit on the cards this summer.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the Colombian’s fitness record in recent seasons ahead of a potential medical.
Last season, Diaz played 36 Premier League games, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists.

Diaz expected to clear medical without any issues
The 28-year-old should be facing no problems clearing his medical ahead of a transfer in the coming weeks, according to Dr Brar.
Diaz has been heavily linked to Bayern Munich this summer, but still has two more years left on his contract.
Club | Appearanaces | Goals | Assists |
Liverpool | 148 | 41 | 23 |
FC Porto | 125 | 41 | 19 |
Junior FC | 106 | 20 | 9 |
Barranquilla FC | 42 | 3 | 1 |
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Liverpool News: “He had no injury issues last season, which is a positive for any club looking to sign him.
“He had a significant knee injury that kept him out for months in late October, but he now appears to be back to 100 per cent.
“I expect him to clear any pre-transfer medical without any issues this summer.”

Liverpool must have a replacement ready for Diaz
Diaz’s potential exit from Liverpool would significantly impact their attacking dynamism, given his 148 appearances, 41 goals and 23 assists since joining from FC Porto.
The 28-year-old’s pace, dribbling and versatility on the left flank are integral to Arne Slot’s system, and his departure could disrupt Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League campaigns.
With big clubs interested, the Anfield outfit must secure a replacement before sanctioning any move.
Ensuring a ready replacement maintains squad depth and competitiveness, mitigating the blow of losing Diaz’s proven quality.
It remains to be seen what the plans are behind the scenes, but regardless, the club look in good shape ahead of the new season.
