Liverpool to generate £100m+ in days after Diaz and Nunez latest
Liverpool look set to generate £100million-plus in the next few days after the latest news regarding Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.
There has been unavoidable speculation about the futures of both players at Anfield.
And that will only grow after the latest news from Liverpool’s tour of Asia.

Diaz and Nunez left out of Liverpool friendly against AC Milan
Both Diaz and Nunez were left out of the Liverpool squad to face AC Milan in Hong Kong on Saturday (26 July).
It was expected that both players might take part in the pre-season friendly, considering they have travelled to Asia and trained with the squad.
Nunez had scored four goals in Liverpool’s two previous friendlies against Preston and Stoke, while Diaz is yet to feature in a pre-season match.
However, these omissions will surely spark more rumours about the imminent departures of the South American duo.
Liverpool have rejected a £58million bid for Diaz from Bayern Munich, but the German giants are expected to come back with a higher offer.
Napoli are favourites to sign Nunez, who Liverpool value at £50-55m.
So, the Reds could receive a cool £100m+ for the sales of two first-team players in the coming days, with their omissions from the squad suggesting moves might be close.
Liverpool sales were inevitable after spending spree
Liverpool have indulged in a recruitment drive for the ages this summer, having spent an estimated £250m on new players.
It was seemingly inevitable that some first-team stars would be sold after this spending spree, not necessarily to help the club balance the books, but because some players aren’t happy to sit on the bench all season.
Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Diaz | 50 | 17 | 5 |
Nunez | 47 | 7 | 5 |
Diaz is a talented player who played a huge role in Liverpool’s title-winning campaign last season, but it would be difficult to turn down £60m-plus for the Colombian, especially given the Reds’ strength in depth in attacking positions.
Nunez could be a huge asset for another club, but he hasn’t performed as consistently as expected for Liverpool, and many would agree it’s time for him to move.
It would represent a smart piece of business to receive more than £100m for the pair. Indeed, that money could go a long way toward funding a bid for Alexander Isak.
