Isak and Ekitike start, Szoboszlai benched – How Slot could line up at Liverpool
Liverpool have been heavily active in the transfer market and could take their remarkable spending to another level.
Florian Wirtz has joined for a club-record fee, and Hugo Ekitike has followed the German to Anfield, but more could still arrive.
Liverpool have made four huge signings so far, and Alexander Isak could become the fifth in an unprecedented summer of heavy spending.
Arne Slot’s side already strolled to the Premier League title last season, and their new-look lineup, if all their signings go through, is a mouthwatering one which could retain the title.

Liverpool’s potential lineup with Isak
Liverpool could spend over £150 million on Isak after the striker expressed a desire to leave Newcastle, but with Ekitike already joining, questions have been raised over where both players will fit in.
While Slot could switch to a two-striker formation, the Dutchman might prefer to aim for minimal disruption with so many new players and stick with the shape which was so successful last season.
Therefore, Wirtz will likely replace Dominik Szoboszlai in the lineup, with new full-backs and a deadly-looking front three.
Competitions | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes Played |

Domestic Cups | 8 | 4 | – | 550′ |
Alisson will continue in goal despite the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili, and the pairing of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate looks set to remain.
Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong will come in at full-back after their high-profile moves this summer, and they could be busy given the potential attacking nature of the team. Wirtz will be joined by Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister in midfield.
Ekitike may have to move to the left wing to accommodate Isak, with both forwards potentially interchanging within games, while the goal threat of Mohamed Salah remains on the right.

Liverpool squad depth will be used
Liverpool failed to go the distance in other competitions last season despite strolling to the Premier League title, but this could change now with the new signings.
While Ekitike may settle for a wing role alongside Isak, there will also be a lot of games in which he starts through the middle, with Cody Gakpo coming in.
Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones will also have parts to play, while Conor Bradley could come in as a defensive right-back against tougher opposition ahead of Frimpong.
Slot has a lot of options to pick from, and he could now build a dynasty at Liverpool if the big-money move for Isak materialises.
