Isak signs – Three players Liverpool could sell as ‘sensational’ transfer ready
Liverpool are still targeting Alexander Isak this summer, despite signing Hugo Ekitike.
Isak has long been on Liverpool’s shortlist, but Newcastle had rebuffed any interest in their star striker, making it clear that he was not for sale.
However, the Sweden international will not travel with the Magpies on their pre-season tour in Asia and has asked to leave Newcastle amid links to the Reds.
Arne Slot’s side are now readying a “sensational” move for the striker [Liverpool Echo], which would likely see them break the British transfer record once again.
Slot could look to fund the move by selling one of his players, with Liverpool News selecting three players that could be headed out the door.

Darwin Nunez
Perhaps the most likely departure on the list, Darwin Nunez has been touted for an exit from Liverpool for some time, having failed to perform consistently for the Merseyside club.
Despite falling out of favour with Slot, the Uruguay international featured in 30 Premier League fixtures as Liverpool won the title last season, but managed only eight starts during that time.
It was also his least productive season in front of goal, as he scored just seven goals across all competitions, falling further down the pecking order.
The striker has three years left on his contract, and despite Nunez’s potential move to Napoli falling through, Liverpool are still hoping to recoup some of the hefty fee they paid Benfica for the 26-year-old.

Luis Diaz
Slot was not initially looking to sell Luis Diaz this summer, but Bayern Munich are testing Liverpool’s resolve as they continue to pursue the Colombian winger.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes Played |
Premier League | 36 | 13 | 7 | 2,413′ |
Champions League | 9 | 3 | 1 | 631′ |
Domestic Cups | 5 | 1 | – | 292′ |
The Merseyside club have already rejected the German Champions’ opening bid but could be tempted to cash in on the 28-year-old if the right offer comes in, especially if Isak were to join.
Diaz recorded his best goal-scoring return for Liverpool last season, but only has two years left on his current contract.
Harvey Elliott
Harvey Elliott is hoping to leave the Premier League champions after being afforded just 360 minutes in the top flight by Slot.
The former Fulham player has significantly developed since signing as a 16-year-old from the Cottagers in 2019, but has never quite managed to lock down a starting spot in the first XI.
The attacking midfielder’s excellent exploits en route to the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship title came at a fantastic time for the Reds to extract maximum value this summer.
Elliott has attracted plenty of interest from various Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, Newcastle, and West Ham.
