Liverpool fans convinced Isak deal is now imminent after Newcastle bombshell
Liverpool’s race for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has taken yet another turn.
The Reds have now completed the signing of Newcastle target Hugo Ekitike from Frankfurt, but haven’t been ruled out making a move for Isak.
Selling the likes of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz could help raise funds to ensure Isak could join Ekitike at Anfield in the coming weeks.
With Liverpool already beating Newcastle to Ekitike’s signature, the Reds could now land a double blow to the Magpies.

Isak doesn’t travel with Newcastle for pre-season tour
Isak is said to be unsettled in the North East after he was strongly linked with a move to Merseyside.
The Swedish striker has been in a contract dispute with Eddie Howe’s side after they have failed to offer him an improved wage.
Isak has now not travelled with his fellow teammates to their pre-season tour in the Far East, due to a reported minor thigh injury that he is nursing.
The news has been quick to filter around the North East and Merseyside, with a move to Anfield back on the cards.
In reply to Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope’s announcement on X (24 July), one supporter said: “Minor injury’? No, he’s just done with Newcastle and ready for the red of champions.”
Another added: “Nursing a connection with a new club?”
Isak still has three years left on his current contract, but Newcastle are seemingly unable to extend due to uncertainty surrounding Profit and Sustainability rules.
FSG’s spending spree will win Liverpool the Premier League
Given Mohamed Salah’s age and Nunez’s uncertain future on Merseyside, Isak would be an investment for the present and the future.
Competitions | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes Played |
Premier League | 34 | 23 | 6 | 2,774′ |
The 25-year-old would continue Liverpool’s spending spree this summer and would almost guarantee that they win back-to-back league titles.
In Isak, Arne Slot would be adding another world-class forward to his frontline who is currently at the peak of his powers.
Isak will also be useful in taking the pressure away from Ekitike and helping his fellow striker bed in at Anfield.
