Liverpool predicted XI vs AC Milan: Wirtz to start as Slot makes seven changes

Liverpool continue their pre-season as they look to prepare for their upcoming campaign.

After victories against Preston North End and Stoke City, Arne Slot’s side have now left the UK to go on their tour of Asia.

First up, the Reds will face AC Milan in Hong Kong on 26 July before travelling to Japan to take on Yokohama FM.

However, the match against the Italian giants on Saturday is no doubt Liverpool’s first big match of their pre-season.

Therefore, Liverpool 247 News has attempted to predict Slot’s line-up for the match at Kai Tak Sports Park.

Liverpool to start Wirtz against AC Milan

Starting in goal, Alisson is expected to make his return for Liverpool after missing out on the first two games due to concussion protocols.

In front of the Brazilian, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez occupy the flanks, earning their first starts under Slot.

Either side of the full-backs, Virgil van Dijk remains at centre-back, with Ibrahima Konate coming into the team.

Into midfield and Curtis Jones keeps his place from the Stoke match, with Alexis Mac Alister and Ryan Gravenberch joining him.

Florian Wirtz is no doubt Liverpool’s biggest signing of the summer, with the German international moving to Anfield for a record fee.

Yet, his only appearance this pre-season came in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Stoke.

However, Liverpool fans should be able to see the 22-year-old in action, with him predicted to remain on the left flank.

With Hugo Ekitike’s transfer to Liverpool finalised, Cody Gakpo comes in up top, while Mohammed Salah maintains his place on the right wing.

Liverpool now only have four friendlies left until their Community Shield match against Crystal Palace, with two being against Athletic Bilbao.
