Federico Chiesa exit to unlock brand-new transfer at Liverpool
Federico Chiesa looks set to end his nightmare stint at Liverpool in the coming weeks.
The Italian struggled for gametime last season, and with Arne Slot’s side already signing Florian Wirtz and now set to complete the signing of Hugo Ekitike, the winger could be even further down the pecking order.
Chiesa joined the Reds last summer in a £12.5million deal, and the Reds could look to cut their losses. Once an exit is finalised, Slot’s side already have a replacement in mind.

Chiesa’s departure to open the door for Malick Fofana signing
Slot did not select Chiesa for Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the Far East, with a fitness issue meaning that he will stay on Merseyside.
The move will only ramp up rumours of the 27-year-old’s potential departure, with plenty more incomings and outgoings expected for Liverpool before the start of next season.

As reported by Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri via X (22 July), Liverpool remain on standby for Malick Fofana, who plays as a winger for Ligue 1 club Lyon.
The 20-year-old managed 17 goal contributions from 41 games last season as he earned his first Belgium call-up.
He is reportedly highly valued and highly thought of by the Reds’ scouting department, and Slot’s side could make a move should Chiesa leave.
Slot has been ruthless so far in replacing fringe players this summer and looks set to continue that trend with Chiesa.
Slot has a decision to make with Chiesa and Luis Diaz
Luis Diaz is also linked with a Liverpool exit this summer.
Though Slot is keen to keep the Colombian, should a club match Liverpool’s value for the winger, the Reds could have a big decision to make.
The Merseyside club have already spent more than £170million, and if the Reds are to sign more players, they will likely have to sell the likes of Darwin Nunez first.
Whether Chiesa departs or not, it seems like there is no way back for the forward on Merseyside.
