‘Liverpool could get one back over Real Madrid’ amid latest Rodrygo news
Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo.
The Brazilian is set for crunch talks regarding his future with new head coach Xabi Alonso, after the winger was left out for much of Los Blancos’ Club World Cup campaign.
Luis Diaz’s potential departure from Anfield this summer could make space for Rodrygo, with Bayern Munich set to follow up on an initial bid.

Liverpool eye Trent revenge
The relationship between Liverpool and Real Madrid is likely best described as rocky.
The Spanish club beat the Reds in two recent Champions League finals – 2017/18 in Kiev, and 2021/22, in Paris.
And Real Madrid efforts to persuade Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold to turn down a new contract and instead join the Spanish giants on a free transfer ultimately proved successful.
The same trick may be taking place in the case of Ibrahima Konate too, with the Frenchman looking set to run his contract down with the Premier League champions, with a future move to Madrid already in the works.

But Rodrygo’s situation could allow Liverpool to finally enact some much-needed revenge.
The Brazilian is a star in Spain, having acted as Real Madrid’s starting right-winger since 2021 and boasting an incredible collection of key moments in the Champions League.
But his possible departure relates to exactly that – Rodrygo is a natural left-winger, and wants to play there, but with Vinicius Jr occupying that position for Alonso’s team, the 24-year-old may look elsewhere.
According to Alex Crook (July 18), Diaz could leave Liverpool this summer if Bayern get close to £80million, with some suggestion that Rodrygo could be his replacement.
Rodrygo would allow Liverpool to one-up Madrid
Rodrygo is undoubtedly one of the jewels in Real Madrid’s crown. Along with Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr, the front four make arguably the most exciting attack in Europe.
If Liverpool were to prise one of those jewels away from Madrid, they would surely have got one back over on their Spanish rivals.
And that is not to ignore the sensational talent that Rodrygo is. The Brazilian is a masterful dribbler, who could thrive in the Premier League if given the right surroundings and Liverpool look to have exactly that.
