Liverpool transfer round-up: Isak tempted by Anfield as PSR concerns dismissed
Liverpool’s transfer window had looked to have entered a lull following the signing of Milos Kerkez.
The Hungarian had completed a fast start to the summer that has also seen Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong arrive at Anfield.
But in recent days, rumours have suggest Liverpool have once again entered the market, with a big money move on the target list.
Here, Liverpool News rounds up the latest transfer stories from July 15-16.

Isak tempted by Liverpool move
Liverpool are set to make a massive effort to sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak over the coming weeks, after Liverpool News exclusively revealed that a £130million offer has already been tabled.
And Abdellah Boulma exclusively told Liverpool News (July 16) that Isak would be open to the move.
“Isak is genuinely tempted by the project at Anfield. He wants to join Liverpool, and the feeling seems mutual, as the Reds prepare to make a concrete move,” the journalist explained.
Liverpool close in on Salford youngster
Liverpool are attempting to bolster their academy ranks this summer, and have reportedly made a move for Salford City striker Will Wright.
According to Alex Crook (July 16), the Reds are closing in on the 17-year-old, who made three appearances for the first team last season.
Wright would be expected to join up with the Liverpool academy.
Manchester City dwarf Liverpool deal
Liverpool announced in March that Adidas would, once again, become the club’s official kit partner.
The deal, worth a reported £60million-per-year for the next five, will see the three stripes return to the Reds’ kits for the first time since 2012.
But Liverpool’s kit deal has now been dwarfed by a new deal signed by Manchester City and Puma, which will see the Manchester club bag £300m-per-year, according to The Times (July 15).
Kieran Maguire eases PSR worries
If Liverpool are to sign Alexander Isak, in a deal likely costing north of £130m, that would see their spending for the summer surpass £300m.
Given the tightened boundaries on spending set by the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), such significant outlay could be a cause for concern amongst fans.
However, speaking exclusively to Liverpool News (July 15), football finance expert Kieran Maguire has quashed such worries.
“Liverpool are in a very strong position as PSR assessed over three years. Liverpool have kept their powder dry in recent windows,” Maguire explained.
