‘Díaz packing his bags at Liverpool’ as personal terms agreed for new transfer

Luis Díaz has been strongly linked to a departure from Liverpool this summer.

There has been no shortage of interest in the Colombia international’s signature, as the Reds prepare for their Premier League title defence.

This comes after the signing of Florian Wirtz pointed towards a potential change in approach moving into the new campaign.

With an exit deal now firmly on the cards, the 28-year-old could be preparing to move on from Anfield in the coming days and weeks.

Hugo Ekitike agrees personal terms with Liverpool

It is little surprise that Díaz would be attractive to a number of elite sides from across Europe.

Bayern Munich have shown a keen interest despite multiple bids being rejected instantly by the L4 club at this stage of the summer.

With that being said, a deal may soon be accepted by the Reds shortly if an incoming transfer is to be confirmed at Anfield.

Links to Alexander Isak at Newcastle United have been strong, but it appears that the Magpies are going to remain firm in their transfer stance.

This has seen the champions turn their attentions to Hugo Ekitike, with an official bid now submitted before the Frenchman agreed to personal terms ahead of a move [Fabrizio Romano, 17 July].

With a fee looking likely to be upward of £80million, the sale of Díaz could prove to make sense for all parties, something which is likely to be music to the ears of Bayern.

Ekitike signing could spell bad news for Diaz

There is no getting away from the fact that the Colombian has been superb for the Reds since completing a move from Porto in 2022.

Having netted 41 goals in red, his record is excellent, but at 28, he is unlikely to command a larger fee at any other stage of his career in L4.

As a result, bringing in Ekitike at 23 and allowing Díaz to depart could prove to be excellent future-proofing on Merseyside.

It will also be interesting to see what this means for Darwin Núñez amid links to Napoli, as the Slot revolution continues.
