Man City dwarf £300m Liverpool agreement in ‘Premier League financial earthquake’
Liverpool have firmly established themselves as one of the main challengers to Manchester City in recent years.
The Reds endured iconic, but ultimately unsuccessful, title races with the Citizens in both 2018/19 and 2021/22, with Jurgen Klopp’s all-conquering side bettering Pep Guardiola’s men to lift the Premier League crown in 2019/20.
Liverpool surpassed City once again last term, with Arne Slot’s side racing to the league title with unexpected ease.
The pair have arguably become the example to follow in a footballing sense over the last six or seven seasons, but City have now embarrassed the Merseysiders with a fresh off-field agreement.

Man City agree Premier League record kit deal
FSG recently agreed a deal for Adidas to return as Liverpool’s kit supplier. The iconic German company have produced some special kits for the Reds over the years, and partnered with them through some of their most golden periods as a club.
Slot’s men will now be decked out in Adidas strips for the next five years, during which time the club will pocket a cool £60million-per-year.
However, that agreement has now been dwarfed following City’s announcement of their bumper new deal with Puma.
The Manchester outfit have agreed a Premier League record kit deal worth in the region of £1billion, according to The Times (15 July).
It is understood that their new agreement last for more than 10 seasons, and will see City land an eye-watering £300m-per-year.
That means that Guardiola’s side will now stand to earn the same amount from their Puma deal each season, as Liverpool will across the entireity of their agreement.

Liverpool’s Adidas deal has been made to look silly
Liverpool supporters would have been delighted with Adidas’ return as their kit supplier, as they have produced countless superb efforts over the years.
However, with the finer details of their rivals’ agreement now coming to light, there must surely be a level of jealousy from FSG towards their Premier League rivals.
Kit supplier deals are a simple way for football clubs to net astronomical amounts of cash, and although Liverpool’s still achieves that, City’s is unfortunately on another level entirely.
The Reds’ own arrangement has been made to look silly by their staggering terms, and serves as a stark reminder of the financial disparity that exists between the two clubs.
The Anfield outfit are not a poor football club by any stretch of the imagination, but City’s wealth is simply on another level.
