Alexander Isak ‘genuinely tempted’ by Liverpool as huge bid submitted – Exclusive

Liverpool are attempting to prise Alexander Isak away from Newcastle United for what would be a Premier League record fee.

The Reds already smashed their club record outlay this summer with the £116million signing of Florian Wirtz, but are hoping to break it again just one month later.

Newcastle have, so far, been unwilling to consider sanctioning the sale of Isak, but Liverpool News has exclusively reported that a £130million bid has been made.

Isak ‘genuinely tempted’ by Liverpool move

Intertwined with Liverpool’s efforts for Isak, is Newcastle’s move for Hugo Ekitike.

Decision-makers at St James’ Park have been attempting to get a deal done for the Frenchman, but Liverpool have now inserted themselves into that saga, also.

Speaking exclusively to Liverpool News, FIFA journalist Abdellah Boulma shared an update on both players’ futures.

“Newcastle have been tracking Hugo Ekitike for quite some time,” Boulma explained.

“The club recently stepped up their interest by submitting a first offer, with a second one reportedly in the works. For his part, Ekitike dreams of playing in the Premier League and feels ready to take on the challenge.

“I’ve followed him since the start of his career. Things didn’t quite click at PSG, but he found his footing in Germany, in a league that allowed him to flourish. Newcastle would be a logical next step for him — it’s a project that suits his profile and his development trajectory.”

But Ekitike’s future could be affected by the movements of Isak, who, Boulma believes, would jump at the chance to move to Anfield.

“In my view,” the journalist said, “Isak is genuinely tempted by the project at Anfield. He wants to join Liverpool, and the feeling seems mutual, as the Reds prepare to make a concrete move.

“In my opinion, Liverpool’s real focus is on Isak, who already knows the Premier League inside out. This type of situation is a textbook example of transfer market dynamics — of course there’s some bluffing involved.

“Liverpool have a good relationship with Newcastle’s management and are likely proceeding step by step, subtly hoping that Isak himself will make the first move. That kind of strategic play is common behind the scenes.”

When asked where he believes the two strikers will end up this summer, Boulma said: “It’s hard to say — everything is still very fluid and can shift quickly. But if I had to make a prediction: I’d see Ekitike joining Newcastle and Isak heading to Liverpool.

“The key question remains: would Newcastle turn down a €120 million (£104m)+ bid for Isak? I’m not so sure. Meanwhile, Liverpool have already made major investments this summer — most notably in Florian Wirtz — and will likely need to sell to balance the books.

“That’s a factor that can’t be overlooked in how this saga plays out.”

Isak move would mark new Liverpool era

There was a time when Liverpool were known to be a club for the player not quite at the top level, but with the aspiration and potential to get there.

Isak is among Europe’s finest strikers

The signing of Wirtz, and, should it happen, Isak, would prove that time has passed. Liverpool are now a club who sign the very best Europe has to offer.
