Heckingbottom ‘wants Rio Ngumoha transfer’ after Preston v Liverpool
Paul Heckingbottom may want to sign Rio Ngumoha this transfer window as Preston face Liverpool on Sunday.
Arne Slot’s team have travelled to Deepdale on 13 July for their first pre-season fixture of the summer, with the 16-year-old forward starting on the left wing.
Conor Bradley opened the scoring for the Reds in the 33rd minute, but the visiting boss could potentially have been left impressed with the Merseyside outfit’s young English forward during the first half.

Ngumoha transfer to Preston on cards after Heckingbottom impressed in Preston v Liverpool
Ngumoha may see Preston as a possible option for a loan move from Liverpool this summer, Stephen Warnock says.
The ex-England international believes Heckingbottom could potentially be watching the 16-year-old’s performance at Deepdale and thinking he would be a great addition at the Championship outfit.
Warnock was seemingly left impressed by the young forward’s display against PNE and thinks they should get him on a temporary transfer.

Speaking on ITV 1 (13 July, 15:21), the former defender said: “The other thing that you think of as a youngster is you’re playing against a Preston in the Championship, and they’re not far from home. You think you might not get that much game time at Liverpool this season. Could it be an option for a loan move?
“Heckingbottom must be watching and thinking ‘wouldn’t mind [Ngumoha] in the Championship next season on loan’. What an addition he would be to the team.”
It will undoubtedly be hard for Ngumoha to get regular minutes under Slot at Anfield next season, and it would make sense for Liverpool to send him away on loan.
Liverpool make quality additions for Slot this transfer window
Florian Wirtz’s transfer from Bayer Leverkusen was seen as a marquee addition at the Reds, but there could be more surprises before the end of August.
Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak is seen as a target by the Merseyside outfit to bolster their attack ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Liverpool have also signed Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez this summer, and fans will be keeping a close eye on their performances during pre-season.
The Reds have a battle brewing in between the sticks, with Giorgi Mamardashvili showing a lot of quality during his outing against Preston.
Slot has a massive season coming up, and their transfer business will instil belief among the supporters of going far in the Champions League this time around.
As for Ngumoha, he would arguably benefit from playing regularly elsewhere before getting an opportunity to cement his place at Liverpool.
The 16-year-old has shown a lot of potential, but staying on the bench at Anfield would arguably be a waste of his talent.
