Guehi ‘finally set to partner Van Dijk’ after £40m Liverpool offer

Liverpool’s interest in Marc Guehi has persisted throughout the summer transfer window.

The Crystal Palace centre-half shone last season as he helped the London club lift the FA Cup.

With the England international now entering the final year of his contract, Liverpool have been linked with a summer swoop for Guehi

However, multiple teams are also pursuing the 25-year-old as speculation surrounding his future continues.

Liverpool to make £40m offer for Guehi

Arne Slot has spent millions upgrading his Liverpool squad this summer, and his spending spree is set to continue.

According to Alan Nixon’s patreon (13 July), the Reds are set to make a “take it or leave it” £40 million offer for Guehi.

This offer is said to give Liverpool a great chance of landing the defender, who is keen to move to Anfield this summer.

Guehi favours a move to the Reds over the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle, and he could now be set to partner Virgil van Dijk this season.

This development comes amid rumours that Ibrahima Konate has rejected two Liverpool contracts, with a big possibility that the centre-back will leave Anfield on a free next summer.

Guehi could be a revolutionary signing at Liverpool

Concerns over the long-term future of Liverpool’s centre-back position have grown in recent months.

With Konate looking likely to move to Real Madrid, and van Dijk not getting any younger, the Reds could be in trouble in the coming years.

However, if they can secure the signing of Guehi, the England international could prove to be a revolutionary addition at Anfield

Being just 25 years old, he could be a mainstay in the Liverpool team for a decade and potentially be van Dijk’s successor.

Hopefully, Slot will now be able to get the transfer quickly over the line, ready for the upcoming campaign.
