Liverpool buzzing as ‘Marc Guehi transfer to finalise business early’ – Exclusive

Liverpool have completed a series of eye-catching deals early in the transfer window as they prepare to defend their Premier League title.

Trent Alexander-Arnold may have departed for Real Madrid, but the Reds and Arne Slot have made significant strides to improve their squad.

Jeremie Frimpong was the first player through the Anfield door, and he has been followed by left-back Milos Kerkez.

However, Liverpool’s deal of the window has to be Florian Wirtz, who arrived for a seismic £116million, and it may not stop there.

Step forward, Marc Guehi.

Liverpool to complete further business with Guehi signing

The North West outfit does not appear to be done in the transfer window just yet, and could cap it off with the acquisition of FA Cup winner, Guehi.

Guehi has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool, and they would have to pay a hefty fee for Crystal Palace to part ways with him.

Football finance expert Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Liverpool News, has weighed in on their spending, with the defender said to be the final piece of the puzzle.

“Get your business done early, and you don’t need to be scrambling around and being reactive when the season starts,” he said.

“Again, we spoke about Liverpool last season, last summer, they didn’t spend that much, hardly anything, in the grand scheme of things.

“In winning the Premier League off the back of that as well, and then looking at how they’re going to grow into the future under that new manager, and the business they’ve done already looks very good.

“If this signing [Guehi] were to happen, then pretty quickly you’re probably seeing them say, right, we’re happy with where we are now going into the new season, and you can really hit the ground running.”

Guehi to be final signing for Slot?

While a deal for Guehi is still some way off, if he were to leave Crystal Palace, then Anfield would be a likely destination.

However, would his arrival draw a line under summer business? Or, could more signings still be made?

Much of that hinges on the future of Luis Diaz, who has been the centre of speculation from Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

If he were to leave, then the Reds would surely have to dip their hands in their pockets for another signing, but right now, he is the finishing touch.
