14 Liverpool stars out of contract in next 24 months – Jones, Alisson and more

Liverpool have sanctioned a mini squad overhaul this transfer window and could potentially be in a similar position soon.

Real Madrid signed Trent Alexander-Arnold after his contract at the Reds expired, with Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah and Nat Phillips also leaving so far.

The Merseyside outfit successfully extended Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk’s contracts at Anfield, and will arguably be hoping to do the same with some key players whose deals are ending in the next 24 months.

Rhys Williams and Phillips were the unsung heroes of the 2020/21 campaign after Jurgen Klopp faced multiple fitness issues in his backline.

Since then, the 24-year-old Englishman has failed to make a place for himself at Anfield, spending time on loan at Swansea, Blackpool, Aberdeen and Morecambe, and it feels like the right time to move on from the defender.
