14 Liverpool stars out of contract in next 24 months – Jones, Alisson and more
Liverpool have sanctioned a mini squad overhaul this transfer window and could potentially be in a similar position soon.
Real Madrid signed Trent Alexander-Arnold after his contract at the Reds expired, with Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah and Nat Phillips also leaving so far.
The Merseyside outfit successfully extended Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk’s contracts at Anfield, and will arguably be hoping to do the same with some key players whose deals are ending in the next 24 months.
Ibrahima Konate – 2026
Liverpool will be looking to avoid losing Ibrahima Konate as a free agent after what happened with Alexander Arnold.
The 26-year-old French centre-back has been pivotal to the Reds’ success in recent seasons, but a massive decision will need to be made regarding his future if the defender doesn’t extend his stay in L4.
Rhys Williams – 2026
Rhys Williams and Phillips were the unsung heroes of the 2020/21 campaign after Jurgen Klopp faced multiple fitness issues in his backline.
Since then, the 24-year-old Englishman has failed to make a place for himself at Anfield, spending time on loan at Swansea, Blackpool, Aberdeen and Morecambe, and it feels like the right time to move on from the defender.
Andy Robertson – 2026
Andrew Robertson’s future at Liverpool has been subject to speculation this summer, and the arrival of Milos Kerkez hasn’t helped the situation.
The 31-year-old Scottish left-back has earned every right to decide what to do next in his career, and if that’s spending another season at Anfield and leaving as a free agent, then so be it.

Joe Gomez has been a constant fixture of the Reds’ squads over the years, but he’s never really been able to be the first choice, partly due to injuries.
The 28-year-old England international could still play a massive part as a backup under Arne Slot, but the versatile defender’s stay at Anfield may not be extended beyond 2027.

Now the 29-year-old Greece international has even more competition in the team with Kerkez’s arrival, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.

Wataru Endo has become a fan favourite at Anfield in a short period due to his commitment and desire in L4.
With the Japan international turning 33 in August, it wouldn’t be surprising to see this being his last contract at the Merseyside outfit.
Stefan Bajcetic – 2027
Liverpool fans had high expectations from Stefan Bajcetic after he broke into the first team in the 2022/23 campaign, but injuries have derailed the midfielder’s development since then.

It would make sense for this to be the 33-year-old Egyptian forward’s final few months at Anfield, but he will definitely leave as a club legend.

If the 28-year-old Colombian does want to leave, the Reds shouldn’t stand in his way as long as they receive a significant sum.
