Liverpool friendly with Preston to go ahead
Liverpool’s upcoming friendly clash with Preston North End was plunged into doubt following the shock passing of Diogo Jota.
With the Liverpool community mourning Jota, it was unclear whether the players and staff would be ready for the friendly, scheduled for July 13.
However, it is reported that the game will proceed as intended, and that Preston are preparing a special tribute to Jota.
Liverpool interested in Rodrygo
Liverpool are reportedly interested in Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, who could be allowed to leave this summer.
Arsenal have also been linked with him, but if Diaz does leave, then the Brazilian could be targeted as a big-name replacement.

Liverpool should profit from Diaz exit
Diaz has been linked with an exit, but a fee of around £50 million has been mooted, and this feels criminally low for the title-winning winger.
With Noni Madueke, Anthony Elanga and Mohammed Kudus all potentially moving for similar prices, Liverpool could demand a much higher fee if Diaz was to leave.
While the club’s stance is that they would rather keep the winger, a huge offer could tempt them into a sale, but they will point to other deals as a means of justifying a higher fee.
Liverpool keen on Ekitike
Liverpool have been linked with Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike, but while he would not come cheap, he could be an outstanding addition.
Ekitike has now been compared to Real Madrid legend Karim Benzema by German journalist Christopher Michel, while the Frenchman’s character has also been praised.
An attack containing Mohamed Salah, Wirtz and Ekitike is a truly mouthwatering prospect, and could help lead Liverpool to yet more major trophies.
