Danns and Euros winner – Three academy stars Liverpool must play in pre-season
Pre-season for Liverpool will no doubt be a tough task this summer.
The passing of Diogo Jota has caused heartbreak at the Merseyside club.
The Portuguese international was a star player for the Reds last season as they lifted the Premier League title, and his presence around Anfield will be badly missed.
Now, Liverpool will attempt to complete their pre-season schedule, with five friendlies lined up.
Many players will see this as their chance to impress Arne Slot ahead of the upcoming season. Therefore, Liverpool News 247 has highlighted three academy players who could make their breakthrough this pre-season.

Ben Doak
Ben Doak is easily one of Liverpool’s best upcoming talents.
The 19-year-old has already picked up six caps for Scotland, with the winger believed to have massive potential.
Last season, Doak was sent on loan to Middlesbrough, where he picked up 10 goal contributions in 24 matches.

Jayden Danns

Despite being just 19 years old, the attacker has already scored three times in nine first-team appearances for the Reds.
In the second half of the 2024/25 campaign, Danns was sent on loan to Sunderland, but injuries prevented him from making an appearance.
Now, Danns will be looking to quickly recover from this by hitting form in pre-season.
While another loan could be on the cards this summer, the forward will still be looking to prove himself to Slot in the upcoming friendlies.

Tyler Morton
Tyler Morton has had a highly successful summer away from Liverpool.
The 22-year-old had been away with at the Under 21s European Championships.
Here, Morton helped England Under 21s win the Euros, where he picked up an assist for the winner in the final.
Now, the 22-year-old will be expecting more game time after his recent performances.
Morton has been linked away from Liverpool in the past. However, a good pre-season could see the midfielder stay at Anfield.
The youngster certainly has the ability to do this and could easily become a key player this season.
