Oasis make touching Jota tribute

Iconic rock band Oasis made their long-awaited return after 16 years and played their first concert in Cardiff on Friday (4 July), one day after Jota’s untimely passing.

Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher reunited after a drawn-out and public feud, and with both musicians lifelong supporters of Liverpool’s Premier League rivals, Manchester City, they also paid tribute to Jota.

During the ending of their song Live Forever, a picture of Jota appeared on the screens behind the band, and those in attendance applauded.

There would have likely been hundreds of Liverpool fans in attendance at the Principality Stadium, and this was a truly poignant moment for everyone involved.

Jota remembered across the world

Jota was an incredibly popular figure at Liverpool, and his impact has transcended football as the world stopped in shock following his tragic passing.

Players and staff from Everton visited Anfield to pay their respects to the attacker, whose final career goal was the winner in the most recent Merseyside derby.

Clubs all over the world have offered their condolences, with everyone devastated at the impact the accident will have on the Jota family.

While the focus of the Oasis concert was on the Gallagher brothers reuniting, they felt it right to show their support to the Jota family after two brothers were taken away from them.
