‘Liverpool to continue to pay Diogo Jota contract to his family after tragic death’

Diogo Jota’s death has had a huge impact on the footballing community, with floods of people commemorating the Liverpool forward.

A traffic accident in Cernadilla, in the province of Zamora, ended with emergency services confirming the news of two fatalities on Thursday.

The footballing world still hasn’t gotten over the shock of Jota’s passing alongside his brother, Andre Silva.

Liverpool will continue paying Jota’s family

Liverpool have already left a tribute by raising the Anfield flag to half mast, and they have now decided to continue helping Jota’s family.

Tributes continue for the forward from fellow clubs and players, as football remembers one of its own.

Now, Liverpool intend to pay out the remaining two years of Jota’s contract to his family, it has been reported in Portugal by Record (5 July).

The Reds will make the gesture to continue supporting his family, with his wife and three children left behind.

Jota had joined Liverpool from Wolves in 2020 and played 182 times at the Merseyside club, netting 65 goals.

In his time on Merseyside, Jota helped the Reds win the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

The forward also made a huge impact at Wolves, where he helped the West Midlands side to promotion to the Premier League.
