Everton show true class as Beto and Chermiti pay tribute to Jota at Liverpool mural

Everton have put rivalries aside with Liverpool to show respect to Jota by laying flowers outside Anfield.

The footballing world has come together in amazing fashion to remember the Portgual international and his brother Andre Silva.

News of a traffic accident and their shock passing has sent vibrations for supporters and beyond, with so many coming forward to share condolences in L4.

Liverpool’s biggest rivals, Everton, have now shown their class with two first-team stars travelling to Anfield to pay a touching tribute to the 28-year-old.

At times like this, football becomes secondary to the tragic loss that a wife, three children and parents have had in such terrible fashion.

As a result, it is simply amazing to see such a large number of people come out on Merseyside to share their condolences outside the stadium he has called home for five years.

This has seen former captain Jordan Henderson come out in support and showcase emotion for his ex-teammate and friend.

The England international has been joined by star names from Merseyside rivals Everton, as Beto and Youssef Chermiti were joined by club ambassador Ian Snodin.

It is fair to assume that the Toffees duo knew Jota personally due to their links to Portgual and have likely been impacted by this news more than most.

This is just yet another example of how the footballing world can come together in such tough times to put rivalries aside, as passionate as they may be.

The Portuguese star wore the number 20, they said he would guide the Reds to victory, and that is exactly what he did as he kick-started the Arne Slot era away at Ipswich Town.

In what will now be an iconic moment, Jota netted his final ever goal against Everton to help secure a 1-0 Merseyside derby win in April, in a typically industrious performance.

Even with that, the Toffees were able to show their class, as they so often do towards Liverpool, and pay their tribute to the forward in such a respectful manner.
