Elliott reacts to Newcastle announcement after £40m Liverpool transfer news

Newcastle United are interested in Harvey Elliott as the Liverpool midfielder could leave Anfield this transfer window.

The 22-year-old was a hero for the England youth side as they won the Euro Under-21 after beating Germany 3-2 in the final on 28 June.

Elliott has shown a lot of potential at Anfield, but he hasn’t been able to cement his place in the starting lineup, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the playmaker leave in the coming weeks.

Eddie Howe’s team want to sign the Liverpool midfielder, but will have to spend £40million to get a deal over the line, but he’s seemingly dropped a hint regarding a move to St James’ Park.

Elliott has liked the 24-year-old forward’s post amid links to St James’ Park in the ongoing transfer window.

With the Liverpool forward reacting to Gordon’s Newcastle announcement, fans will undoubtedly speculate whether there’s more to it than meets the eye.

Elliott to help Liverpool seal Alexander Isak transfer

With Newcastle striker Alexander Isak still on the Reds’ radar, they may be able to use the current opportunity to their advantage.

It looks like the Merseyside outfit are destined to lose Elliott to Howe’s team or some other side this summer, and the Englishman could potentially be used as leverage in L4 to sign a new centre-forward.

Darwin Nunez is on the chopping block at Liverpool, with uncertainty also surrounding Diogo Jota’s future.

The Reds will surely get significant funds from selling some of their players this summer, which may be used to buy Isak.

Richard Hughes should build a favourable relationship with the Magpies during talks for Elliott and attempt to secure a deal for the Swedish striker in the process.

Liverpool have already sold Jarell Quansah for a substantial fee, which may be used towards signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

Exciting times are ahead for the Anfield faithful in the coming weeks, and Elliott’s situation is one fans will watch closely.
