Harvey Elliott ‘really happy’ for Woltemade amid Everton transfer speculation

Harvey Elliott has had a great summer away from Liverpool.

The England Under 21s international won the European Championship on Saturday, with the attacking midfielder netting in the final.

This form comes as Elliott is linked away from Liverpool, with sides such as Aston Villa and Wolves lurking.

However, Arne Slot may have something to think about going into the upcoming Premier League campaign after the 22-year-old’s sensational tournament.

Elliott wishes Woltemade ‘the best’ after beating him to the golden boot

Elliott ended the tournament as the second-top scorer in the competition, as he netted five goals in six games.

The golden boot winner was Nick Woltemade, who scored six times in the Euros, meaning the Liverpool ace missed out by one goal.

The Stuttgart striker picked up nine goal contributions overall to continue his great form from the 2024/25 campaign.

Last season, the 23-year-old netted 17 goals in all competitions as he helped the Bundlesliga club win the German Cup.

Everton have been linked with Woltemade, but this has not stopped Elliott from praising the attacker.

When asked about how he felt that Woltemade had beaten him to the golden boot, he told Sky Sports Germany (29 June): “I’m really happy for him and wish him all the best for the future.”

Elliot has to remain at Liverpool this summer

Despite the speculation surrounding Elliott, Slot must keep hold of the young starlet this summer.

The ability that he showed in the Euros was fantastic, and he could easily be one of the best players in the Premier League in the coming years.

While Elliott has requested more first-team football, this is something Slot should attempt to accommodate.

If Liverpool did sell Elliott, it would no doubt come back to haunt them in the coming years.

Hopefully, the attacking midfielder’s recent performances have done enough to ensure that he has a place in the first team at Anfield this season.
