Liverpool seal ‘under-the-radar transfer blinder’ after new annoucement
Liverpool have been one of the busiest Premier League sides in the transfer window, as they look to build on their title-winning squad.
Five new signings have already walked through the doors at Melwood, with a big-money deal for Florian Wirtz the pick of several smart pieces of business.
And the Reds are showing no signs of stopping, as Arne Slot attempts to prepare a bid for back-to-back Premier League titles.

Freddie Woodman is Liverpool’s fifth signing
It was a £30million deal for Jeremie Frimpong that kicked off Liverpool’s summer business, the Dutchman joining from Bayer Leverkusen.
And the full back was eventually joined by his ex-teammate, when a deal that saw Bundesliga star Wirtz join for over £100m was concluded.
Liverpool then moved for Hungarian duo Milos Kerkez and Armin Pecsi, the latter seen as a smart, cheap move for a talented young goalkeeper.
The 20-year-old is expected to join up with the academy next season, leaving a spot available for a third-choice goalkeeper in the first team.
And Liverpool appear to have found their man in Freddie Woodman, with the Reds announcing that a deal has been agreed with the Englishman.
Woodman left Preston North End upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season and will provide cover for Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Liverpool continue to be smart in the market
Woodman will not be a name that sparks excitement in the hearts of most Liverpool fans.
However, as ever in the case of sporting director Richard Hughes, the devil is in the details.
Woodman will occupy the homegrown spot in Liverpool’s squad that was left vacant by the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
And the 28-year-old also brings a wealth of experience, having featured extensively throughout the football league in his career so far.
Woodman’s arrival also covers for the departures of both Vítězslav Jaroš and Harvey Davies, who have left on loan.
In short, Liverpool have killed two birds with one stone with a deal that could not get much cheaper.
The Premier League champions will have more eye-catching business left on the target list, but will be pleased to have signed off on a necessary acquisition.
