Darwin Nunez to ‘wreak havoc’ already ahead of Liverpool exit
Darwin Nunez looks set to leave Liverpool, as the speculation linking him with a move to Napoli becomes red-hot.
The Uruguayan striker arrived at Anfield with a lot of expectation on his shoulders, but failed to deliver the goods consistently enough in a Reds shirt
Still, those close to the action of Serie A believe Nunez would thrive if he moves away from Merseyside.

Nunez tipped to thrive in Serie A
Nunez has 40 goals in 143 appearances for Liverpool, but is widely considered not good enough for the Premier League champions.
However, Italian football journalist Alessandro Schiavone believes the Uruguayan would wreak havoc in Serie A.
In a post on X, he explained that this would be partly due to the service he’d receive at Napoli, as well as the quality of the Italian league dropping in recent years.
He said: “Serie A is in such dire straits that, should Darwin Nunez join Napoli, he will wreak havoc. I tip him to score at least 25 goals surrounded by Lang, De Bruyne, McTominay and Lukaku.
“Anyone with a bit of talent right now will take the league by storm, and Nunez has plenty of it.”
Liverpool want £51million for Nunez, which is a serious discount on the £64m they paid Benfica for him. However, it’s not yet clear whether Napoli are prepared to pay that fee.
What is more clear is that Arne Slot and his staff are actively preparing for life without Nunez this season.
Selling Nunez for £51m would be great business for Liverpool
Everyone at Anfield has been willing Nunez to succeed at Liverpool, but it just hasn’t clicked for him.
That doesn’t mean he’s talentless. Sometimes, a certain player doesn’t fit at a certain club.
In that case, it’s often better to let go rather than hang on and hope. The longer that players like these stay, the lower their transfer value drops.

It’s looking unlikely that Liverpool will make back the £64m paid for Nunez, and selling him for £51m would be good business now.
It would already bring back a sizeable chunk of the fee paid for Florian Wirtz.
It will be interesting to see Nunez and Lukaku paired up front together in Naples. Could we witness a pair of Premier League flops dominating the Italian league next season?
Lukaku provides the perfect example of a player who has struggled in England but thrived in Italy. McTominay too. So, perhaps Napoli is the perfect destination for Nunez.
