Nick Woltemade ‘set to clear medical’ at Liverpool in new £42m twist

Liverpool are keen on bringing Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade to Anfield in the summer transfer window.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the 23-year-old’s fitness record from last season ahead of a potential medical.

The Reds are eyeing a new striker to give them the best chance of defending their Premier League crown next season.

Woltemade not expected to have issues clearing his medical

The Germany international’s fitness record last season suggests he should have no issues with his medical ahead of a potential Anfield transfer, according to Dr Brar.

Liverpool have approached Stuttgart over Woltemade and will have to shell out around £42million to secure his services. (Caught Offside, 5 June)

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Liverpool News: “He played 28 league games and did not face any injury issues.

He should clear his medical without any trouble.

However, as he’s moving from a different country, he will need a gradual acclimatisation to the new conditions both on and off the pitch to avoid the immediate risk of injury.

Liverpool must prioritise the signing of Woltemade

The 6’6” German striker combines physical dominance with technical finesse, making him an intriguing fit for Liverpool’s dynamic system under Arne Slot.

His style blends old-school target man traits, excelling in aerial duels and hold-up play, with modern flair, including deft dribbling and precise link-up play.

Woltemade’s ability to drop deep, create chances and press intensely aligns with Slot’s demand for a hardworking No. 9.

His 17 goals last season highlight his clinical edge, ideal for replacing Darwin Nunez’s inconsistency.

Despite lacking elite pace, his intelligence and versatility suit Liverpool’s fluid attack alongside Florian Wirtz and Mohamed Salah.

At £42million, Woltemade offers a cost-effective, high-potential option to bolster Liverpool’s title defence, bringing unique attributes to their forward line.
