Liverpool ‘to take full advantage’ in Fofana raid after official annoucement
Malick Fofana has been on the radar for Liverpool following a great season for Lyon in Ligue 1.
Fofana, 20, played as a left-winger for Paulo Fonseca’s side, netting five goals and recording four assists in 29 games.
The Belgian joined the French side in 2024 and is under contract until 2028, but has attracted attention from Chelsea and Newcastle.
And those interested clubs will be rubbing their hands following the shocking news on Fofana’s club Lyon.

Lyon relegated to Ligue 2
An official announcement on Tuesday (24 June) confirmed that seven-time French champions Lyon will be relegated from Ligue 1, owing to financial problems.
The decision, which was heavily rumoured to happen over the season, can be appealed.
Lyon were founded in 1950 and won their seven Ligue 1 titles in a row between 2001/02 and 2007/08.
Karim Benzema, Nabil Fekir and Hugo Lloris are some of the notable stars who played there in the past.
The French giants are owned by John Textor, who had to sell his shares in Crystal Palace so they can play in Europe next season.
Liverpool have been monitoring Fofana, who has a price tag of £43m, for the winger spot with speculation of a Luis Diaz exit and doubts in Federico Chiesa.
Lyon may be forced to sell the winger for cheap if they play Ligue 2 football next season, as is now expected.

Liverpool can snatch Lyon stars on the cheap
Rayan Cherki has already made the switch from Lyon to Man City for £34m and was a target for Liverpool.
Former Premier League players Alexandre Lacazette, Nemanja Matic and Ainsley Maitland-Niles may be on the hunt for a return to these shores.
Moussa Niakhate, the ex-Nottingham Forrest defender, could be on the market for cheap and could provide cover in defence after Jarrad Quansah’s departure.
Georgian forward Georges Mikautadze had a great campaign and may be a fantastic replacement for Darwin Nunez.
Corentin Tolisso, who previously played for Bayern Munich, would provide Arne Slot’s side with experience in midfield following Florian Wirtz’s move.
Mikautadze, 24, had 17 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season for Lyon.
Liverpool need to capitalise on a great market opportunity this summer and cannot lose out to their rivals.
