Curtis Jones sends farewell message as Liverpool exit confirmed
Curtis Jones enjoyed a fine season for Liverpool.
The 24-year-old featured 33 times for the Reds as they lifted the Premier League title, starting 19 matches.
His impressive form for Arne Slot‘s side, which saw him net three goals and notch three assists, resulted in a call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for games against Andorra and Senegal.

Jones reacts as Phillips’ Liverpool exit confirmed
Nat Phillips has left Liverpool after nine years on Merseyside, joining West Brom in a deal that could bank £3million for the Reds.
The 28-year-old took to Instagram (24 June) to share a farewell message after his exit was confirmed, saying: “Thank you for all the memories, love and support.
“This club has been a huge part of my life, and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities it’s given me and the people on and off the pitch whom I have been fortunate to meet along the way.
“It’s been an absolute honour to represent Liverpool and one that I will be forever proud of.
“Lastly, a special thank you to the fans, whose support I have felt continuously. I wish the club and all involved the very best of luck for the future, YNWA.”
Jones reacted by liking the post and commented: “All the best, bro.”
Dominic Solanke and Neco Williams also liked the post, with the latter commenting: “All the best, Nat.”
Rhys Williams also liked and commented, saying: “Good luck, partner.”
Phillips can shine away from Liverpool
Phillips and Williams stepped in admirably in the 2020-21 campaign as Jurgen Klopp‘s side were devastated by injuries, and ultimately helped the Reds secure a Champions League berth.
The ‘Bolton Baresi’, as he is affectionately known by Reds fans, was rewarded with a start against AC Milan in the San Siro, where he famously performed a Cruyff turn on Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Competitions (Liverpool) | Phillips’ appearances |
Premier League | 19 |
Champions League | 5 |
FA Cup | 2 |
Carabao Cup | 3 |
Total | 29 |
However, those moments were few and far between for the defender as he made just 29 appearances across his nine years with the L4 outfit.
His last appearance was in the FA Cup third-round replay against Wolves back in 2023, and a departure has been on the cards for a long time, with several loan spells away, including in the Championship at Derby last season.
Iconic commentator Ian Darke told Liverpool News that should shine in the division, claiming that he should thrive at a club like Albion, who are in contention for promotion.
Hopefully, he can go and forge a regular starting role at The Hawthorns, something which he was unable to do on Merseyside, despite being a fan favourite.
One thing is for sure, he leaves with the well wishes of Reds supporters and players and they will be hoping that he can shine away from L4 after literally putting his body on the line for the club when called upon.
