Chiesa ‘could quit Liverpool immediately’ after shock Gattuso latest from Italy
Federico Chiesa is likely to leave Liverpool this summer after struggling for gametime last season.
Chiesa arrived on Merseyside for a bargain price tag of £12.5million; however, the Italian has struggled to reach the heights he is capable of at Anfield.
Now, developments from the Italian national team have made it increasingly likely that Chiesa will make the move away from Liverpool in search of regular football.

‘Chiesa needs to play more,’ says Italy boss Gattuso
Chiesa has been linked to a move back to his home country in recent weeks.
The winger played just six Premier League games for Liverpool last season and has attracted interest from AC Milan.
A move away is now more nailed on after Italy boss Gennaro Gattuso made a huge claim about the 27-year-old in his introductory press conference: “Chiesa needs to play more, that’s important.
“Our doors will always be open to him, but we want Fede to play regularly.”
Among the other options for Chiesa are AS Roma and Atalanta, who could lose Ademola Lookman this summer.
At £12.5m, the winger would be a steal for Italian clubs in need of a reliable and quick playmaker.
The Italian international only qualified for a Premier League winners’ medal when he came off the bench in a 3-1 loss to Chelsea in May, nearly missing out.
Chiesa joined the Reds after being frozen out by Thiago Motta, who had a small stint at Juventus last season.
It hasn’t worked out for him since his move to Merseyside, and he could soon depart Anfield, potentially alongside the likes of Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota.

Chiesa would be a bargain signing for Serie A teams
Chiesa has shown how good he can be at a top team in the past.
Serie A season | Matches | Goal contributions |
2023/24 | 33 | 12 |

The Italian was unnecessarily cut off by Juventus last summer, which has put his career on hold.
Unfortunately, his time on Merseyside seems to be coming to an uneventful close as he will struggle to compete with the likes of Florian Wirtz for gametime next season.
He has proved what he is capable of in Serie A, and there is no doubt that with patience and regular minutes, Chiesa can show his prowess again.
After an initial shock, the winger will know that he has to quit immediately for the better of his career.
