Sean Dyche scared after Wirtz news at Liverpool as ex-Everton boss speaks out
Liverpool confirmed the signing of Florian Wirtz this week and it has left former Everton boss Sean Dyche in fear.
The Anfield outfit wrapped up a £100million deal that could rise to £116m if potential add-ons are achieved.
It is a huge step from Fenway Sports Group towards helping Arne Slot’s side to defend their Premier League title.
However, while the former Everton manager believes Wirtz is a brilliant player, the deal has left him concerned.

Liverpool’s Wirtz announcement leaves Dyche scared
The champions announced that they had signed the German star on Friday (20 June), and he will join his former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong on Merseyside.
Dyche raised concerns over the way that transfer fees are heading in the aftermath of the deal being confirmed.
Speaking on talkSPORT (21 June, 1:30pm), he said: “Where is the line drawn, that boy Wirtz, you know, he has played a lot of football for a youngster.
“I must say, he is 22, I was checking him out, and you know, he has played a lot of football for a young lad, £116million.
“Where does it keep going to? How much do clubs keep having to put on the line to get these players? Demand is very high.”
Wirtz and Liverpool will not share Dyche’s fears
Wirtz was one of the most sought-after players in world football, with the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich rivalling the Reds for his signature.
He notched 10 goals and 12 assists in 31 Bundesliga matches and gives Slot’s side a huge advantage in their attempts to retain their crown, with Arsenal and Manchester City likely to fight back next season.
The Reds do not spend ridiculous money very often, with only the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Alisson, truly transformative signings, commanding those types of fees from FSG.
The fact that they are willing to sanction a similar amount for Wirtz suggests that they believe that he can have an equally colossal impact on their chances of league and Champions League success.
Dyche’s concern may be relevant when it comes to the state of football in general, with the likes of Chelsea and Pep Guardiola’s side regularly spending big money on players that are not worth that, but the Reds usually get it right when they make a splash in the market.
They will also likely counter their business with sales, with the likes of Darwin Nunez and Jarell Quansah expected to depart for significant fees and Caoimhin Kelleher already being sold to Brentford.
