Liverpool news round-up: Arne Slot in private talks as Anfield exit claim made
Liverpool have been very active in the early stages of the summer transfer window and that is not expected to change.
The Reds have already confirmed deals for Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz as they seek to defend their Premier League title.
Fenway Sports Group are sparing no expense to ensure that Arne Slot’s side are in the best position possible to expand on their success last season.
Here, Liverpool News rounds up the latest Reds updates from 21 June.

Jones sends Liverpool transfer hint as images emerge
Liverpool star Curtis Jones has potentially sent a hint about the Reds’ next transfer move after the Wirtz deal was completed.
The England ace took to Instagram (20 June) and shared multiple pictures of his summer so far, some of which included Newcastle player Anthony Gordon.
The Magpies star replied with a comment, saying: “my brother” with a heart and fingers crossed emoji, which will only serve to increase speculation about a potential return to Merseyside, this time on the red half.
Nunez to join another Premier League club amid £30m news
Darwin Nunez is expected to leave Liverpool after another disappointing campaign with the Reds seeking around £50million for his services.
Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that the former Benfica man could remain in the Premier League if the Anfield outfit reduces their demands to around the £30m mark.
Speaking exclusively to Liverpool News (20 June), he said: “Unless his fee dropped to something in the region of say £30million, possibly at that price, there would be clubs certainly in the middle of the Premier League that may be willing to take a chance.
“It may be a nice move for him too, because he would then become a main figure, he has become a little bit of a, not forgotten man, but peripheral, let’s put it that way, at Anfield.”
Robertson may leave Liverpool due to PSR concerns
Andy Robertson has been heavily linked with a Liverpool exit this summer.
Finance expert Dan Plumley believes that while the Reds do not need to sell the left-back, although they could to help with future Profit and Sustainability regulations and UEFA squad cost rules.
Speaking exclusively to Liverpool News (20 June), he said: “It does still depend on the context of the club, if you look at Liverpool and Andy Robertson as an example, they are not desperate to sell.
“There is nothing in the finances that suggests to us, from the outside looking in, that they have got to sell players.
“Any player off the wage bill is going to help with that calculation, which Liverpool are absolutely fine on for the record, but still there is that to factor in, and also if you look at where the Premier League might go, then the wage cost is going to be a huge part of that calculation.”
Liverpool boss Slot in private talks over Robertson exit
Arne Slot could hold private talks with Robertson as the Reds look set to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in a £40million deal.
Former Chelsea forward Tony Cascarino believes that it could have a negative effect on Robertson, who may seek an exit after an eight-year stint with the Merseysiders.
Speaking on talkSPORT (21 June, 6:23 am), he said: “Well, Andy Robertson will know if they’ve signed a left-back.
“I mean, I guess never say never. Again, it’s never a guarantee, Arne Slot might say to him no I want you to be here. I need you, I need you here and I want you to stay here, you’re going to play a lot of football.”
